Approximating the Minimum Chain Completion problem

چکیده
A bipartite graph G = (U, V, E) is a chain graph [9] if there is a bijection π : {1, . . . , |U |} → U such that Γ (π (1)) ⊇ Γ (π (2)) ⊇ . . . ⊇ Γ (π (|U |)), where Γ is a function that maps a node to its neighbors. We give approximation algorithms for two variants of the Minimum Chain Completion problem, where we are given a bipartite graph G(U, V, E), and the goal is find the minimum set of edges F that need to be added to G such that the bipartite graph G′ = (U, V, E′) (E′ = E ∪ F ) is a chain graph.

A Multi Objective Fibonacci Search Based Algorithm for Resource Allocation in PERT Networks
The problem we investigate deals with the optimal assignment of resources to the activities of a stochastic project network. We seek to minimize the expected cost of the project include sum of resource utilization costs and lateness costs. We assume that the work content required by the activities follows an exponential distribution. The decision variables of the model are the allocated resourc...
متن کاملScheduling of Multiple Autonomous Guided Vehicles for an Assembly Line Using Minimum Cost Network Flow
This paper proposed a parallel automated assembly line system to produce multiple products having multiple autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs). Several assembly lines are configured to produce multiple products in which the technologies of machines are shared among the assembly lines when required. The transportation between the stations in an assembly line (intra assembly line) and among station...
متن کاملSubexponential parameterized algorithm for minimum fill-in
The Minimum Fill-in problem is to decide if a graph can be triangulated by adding at most k edges. Kaplan, Shamir, and Tarjan [FOCS 1994] have shown that the problem is solvable in time O(2O(k) + knm) on graphs with n vertices and m edges and thus is fixed parameter tractable. Here, we give the first subexponential parameterized algorithm solving Minimum Fillin in time O(2O( √ k log k) + knm). ...
متن کاملA Forward-Backward Projection Algorithm for Approximating of the Zero of the Sum of Two Operators
In this paper, a forward-backward projection algorithm is considered for finding zero points of the sum of two operators in Hilbert spaces. The sequence generated by algorithm converges strongly to the zero point of the sum of an $alpha$-inverse strongly monotone operator and a maximal monotone operator. We apply the result for solving the variational inequality problem, fixed po...
متن کاملRecognition and Combinatorial Optimization Algorithms for Bipartite Chain Graphs
In this paper we give a recognition algorithm in O(n(n + m)) time for bipartite chain graphs, and directly calculate the density of such graphs. For their stability number and domination number, we give algorithms comparable to the existing ones. We point out some applications of bipartite chain graphs in chemistry and approach the Minimum Chain Completion problem.
